ChemX appoints Primero to conduct HiPurATM HPA Pilot Plant Pre- Feasibility Study Highlights • ChemX Materials has signed an agreement with Primero to undertake the Engineering studies for the HiPurATM HPA Pilot Plant • Study expected to be completed in Q2 2022 ChemX Materials (ASX:CMX) (ChemX or the Company), a materials technology company focused on providing critical materials required for electrification and decarbonisation, is pleased to advise that Primero has been appointed to undertake the pre-feasibility study on the HiPurATM High Purity Alumina (HPA) pilot plant. Primero, a subsidiary of NRW Holdings Ltd, is a mineral processing specialist with an outstanding record of delivering novel and unique projects. The HiPurATM flowsheet design has been completed following SysCad modelling, which was managed by Primero. The key outcomes from the pre-feasibility will be the equipment sizing, engineering design, capital and operating costs. The outstanding growth in the lithium battery market, driven by the rapid uptake in electric vehicles, has seen the demand for HPA continue to rise dramatically. The design and construction of the pilot plant will be a major step in ChemX starting to supply its HPA into the battery materials market. ChemX Managing Director, David Leavy, commented: “We are excited to appoint Primero to undertake the pre- feasibility Study for the ChemX HiPurATM HPA pilot plant. Primero has a proven track record and depth of experience in process plant engineering, giving us great confidence. ChemX Materials (ASX:CMX) (ChemX or the Company), a materials technology company focused on providing critical materials required for electrification and decarbonisation, is pleased to advise that it has joined the Global Battery Alliance (GBA). The GBA (www.globalbattery.org) is a public-private collaboration established in 2017 at the World Economic Forum, with the aim of driving a sustainable battery value chain and the progressive reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The guiding principles of the GBA are to: • Establish a circular battery value chain as a major driver to achieve the Paris Agreement • Establish a low carbon economy in the value chain, create new jobs and additional economic value • Safeguard human rights and economic development consistent with the UN Sustainable Development Goals ChemX will be participating in advancing projects and initiatives of the GBA including the Battery Passport program. The Battery Passport program will have a full history of the ESG performance of each component of the battery to ensure a sustainable battery value chain. 31 January 2022 ChemX Appoints Drilling Contractor for Maiden 6,300m Program Key Highlights • ChemX Materials has executed a drilling contract with JR McLeod Pty Ltd • Maiden drill campaign expected to commence in Q1CY2022 in South Australia • Up to 4,000m of drilling targeting kaolin and halloysite and 2,300m targeting manganese • Drilling will commence only weeks after a successful listing on the ASX ChemX Materials (ASX:CMX) (ChemX or the Company), a materials technology company focused on providing critical materials required for electrification and decarbonisation, is pleased to advise that it has executed a drilling contract with JR McLeod Pty Ltd to undertake the planned drilling programs at the Kimba Kaolin / Halloysite project and the Jamieson Tank Manganese project on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. JR McLeod Pty Ltd is a local drilling contractor with extensive experience on the Eyre Peninsula. Importantly, JR McLeod has previously completed drilling programs at the Kimba Kaolin / Halloysite and Jamieson Tank Manganese projects. Kimba Kaolin / Halloysite Project. ChemX Managing Director David Leavy said the use of local contractors was important, “As a business we endeavour to utilise local contractors where the appropriate skills exist. We are pleased to be working with JR McLeod on our maiden drilling campaign as an ASX-listed company.” Kimba Kaolin / Halloysite Project The Kimba Kaolin / Halloysite Project is located 115kms west of Whyalla, SA on the 100% ChemX- owned EL6634. Previous exploration has identified a number of kaolin deposits on the tenement, with the main ones being Kelly Tank, Bunora and Bunora East.
