Ein Beitrag von mir bei H C I got a request from a german forum. The CEO of GPX said (I don't know if that's true) that SVM has problems with the logistics contract. I have a statement from SVM: There are no problems that the Company is aware of with the Rail Agreement. The Company is working with CEAR on the formal Rail Agreement which is progressing and is in good standing. Time has been taken to ensure the agreement is strongly aligned with the production/development schedule of the project. This continually becomes clearer and is advantageous to delay the formal agreement until this is clear. It should be noted, under the railway concession agreement for Malawi dated 31 December 2011, CEAR is required to ensure that one fifth of its freight traffic is non-coal over the longer term. CEAR are obligated to invest in rehabilitating the Malawian rail network and to rebuild a significant domestic railfreight business based on the traditional imports of fertiliser, grains & fuel, and the exports of tobacco, tea and other agricultural produce. Therefore, there is motivation for CEAR to also move the rail agreement forward.  End. Obviously other companies are watching SVM very closely. So should they. SVM is developing splendidly 😀
