So, die erste Ernte ist im Sack:  Salmon Evolution ASA: Proof of concept – First harvest successfully completed Salmon Evolution ASA ("Salmon Evolution" or the "Company", OSE: SALME) is pleased to announce that it on 7 November 2022 successfully completed its first harvest from batch 1. “Having successfully completed the first harvest is a historic milestone for Salmon Evolution. In just 7 months we have grown our salmon from 300 grams to harvest weight, clearly demonstrating proof of concept as to our approach to land-based salmon farming. Salmon Evolution is all about creating optimal living conditions for the salmon, which in turn sets the basis for excellent biological performance and long-term profitability”, says Trond Håkon Schaug-Pettersen, Interim CEO and CFO in Salmon Evolution. The operation started on 3 November when about 30,000 salmon were transferred from Indre Harøy to Salmon Evolution’s nearby processing partner Vikenco where the fish has been resting in their holding cage over the weekend. The whole process went according to plan and minimal mortality was registered during the fish transfer process. The harvest will be spread over a couple of days and the first group was harvested yesterday.   “We are extremely excited to have completed our first harvest which will give us valuable insight into how we operate our facility. Although batch 1 already has been a major success, we are confident that as we learn more and more, we will be able to continuously improve our operations and maximize the output from the farm while at the same time upholding the highest quality standards”, says Ingjarl Skarvøy, Chief Operating Officer in Salmon Evolution. The salmon from this harvest has been sold to a selected group of customers both in Norway and abroad, providing them with the opportunity to test the product and verify the quality ahead of the Company’s planned ramp-up in harvest volumes over the coming quarters. “Finally we have the opportunity to share our salmon with the market. Na top News würde ich jetzt nun nicht sagen. Ich finde es sind gute aber auch zu erwartende News. Im Prinzip läuft es planmäßig, aber mehr aber auch nicht. Die fische wachsen gut. Sterblichkeit ist gering. Qualität ist auch gut. Die 2. Charge zieht auch bald ein. Es läuft halt. Mich wundert dabei der krasse Anstieg heute, was mich natürlich auch sehr freut 💪 überzeugt bin ich auch alle mal. Die ganzen anderen Lachsbuden sind heute aber auch hoch gegangen, nur nicht so krass.

Kam gerade per Newsletter: Q2 2022 Operational update – continued strong biological performance with batch #1 average fish weight now at 1.5 kg Salmon Evolution ASA ("Salmon Evolution" or the "Company", OSE: SALME) is pleased to announce that the strong biological performance reported in the Q1 2022 presentation has continued for the remainder of the second quarter. As per 30 June 2022 the batch #1 average fish weight is estimated to around 1.5 kg with observed individuals well above 2 kg. Feeding and growth numbers have continued to significantly exceed expectations, reflecting good water quality and strong fish health and fish welfare. Further, the Company has continued to see low mortality levels. Over the last weeks the Company has also taken out samples for extensive quality testing. The test results have been very positive, confirming good fish health and filet quality, firm meat texture, nice and consistent red meat colour and excellent salmon taste. Additionally, no issues with early maturation have been observed. The Company is in the process of preparing for the batch #2 smolt release which is now expected to take place in July. Batch #2 smolt volumes will be significantly upsized compared to the initial plan as it will also include the volumes originally intended for release in August. This will further optimize the production plan and provide more operating flexibility along with the upcoming completion of the remaining grow out tanks. Going forward the Company intends to publish a similar operational update as soon as possible after the end of each quarter, thereby increasing the reporting frequency.
