Palantir up 8% after partnering with Microsoft Shares of Palantir Technologies Inc. surged over 8% on Thursday after the company announced a partnership with Microsoft Corporation aimed at selling artificial intelligence, analytics, and secure cloud capabilities to the United States defense and intelligence agencies. Through this partnership, Palantir will deploy its products in Microsoft Azure Government and the Azure Government Secret and Top Secret platforms, both companies said in a statement. Additionally, Palantir will become "an early adopter of Azure's OpenAI service in Microsoft's Secret and Top Secret environments." Meanwhile, Palantir's Chief Technology Officer Shyam Sankar noted that "bringing Palantir and Microsoft capabilities to our national security apparatus is a step change in how we can support the defense and intelligence communities." Palantir's stock jumped 8.38% at 11:36 am ET to sell for $28.52 apiece.
