As previously communicated, we have spent considerable resources during the quarter preparing for strong expansion during the rest of 2022, and we have already surpassed the Q1 revenues in Q2 as of the 11th of May,” says Knut Roar Wiig, CEO of Nordic Unmanned. 54 percent revenue growth Revenues in the first quarter amounted to EUR 2.5 million, an increase of 54 percent from the first quarter of last year. EBITDA was negative EUR 1.9 million, compared to negative EUR 0.7 million in the first quarter of last year. The first quarter tends to be seasonally slower than the following quarters. Nordic Unmanned has changed accounting standards from NGAAP to IFRS from January 1st, 2022. Please see the attachment for details on the impact of the change. The change is part of the preparation to uplist the company to the Oslo Stock Exchange. At the end of the first quarter, the total contract backlog was EUR 59 million, roughly double the year-ago level. The company has a liquidity position of EUR 5.1 million, including cash and available overdraft and credit lines. Building organisation and capabilities Nordic Unmanned continues to expand its organisation and capabilities. The number of flight hours in the quarter increased by 60 percent compared to the same quarter last year, and the staff expanded from 123 to 140 during the quarter.   During the quarter, Nordic Unmanned started operations with the Textron Aerosonde fixed-wing drones in Europe, increasing the company’s ability to conduct long-range Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) surveillance operations by adding this fixed-wing drone capability. Adding additional capacity, a third Camcopter system was delivered in the quarter. After the end of the quarter, Nordic Unmanned announced the acquisition of a majority of DroneMatrix of Belgium, offering a fully autonomous AI-powered Drone-In-A-Box solution. “Integrating first-class niche players such as DroneMatrix, Ecoxy, AirRobot and NUAer to the Nordic Unmanned growth platform broadens our offering for a drone market which is growing strongly, partly due to the changed security situation in Europe, but also to the general acceptance of unmanned flights as a superior alternative in several markets,” says Mr. Wiig. Outlook For 2022, Nordic Unmanned expects revenues to be about EUR 30m, three times the 2021 level. The EBITDA margin is expected to be in the range of 10 to 20 percent. Ich wage keine konkrete Prognose, aber ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass die Zahlen den Markt vom Hocker reißen werden. Die laufenden Projekte haben im Q1 noch keine hohen Umsätze generiert, der Schwerpunkt liegt in der 2. Jahreshälfte. Eine Unbekannte ist AirRobot. Da hieß es im März, man sei beinahe ausverkauft. Im Shareville-Forum finde ich, dass die monatlichen Produktionskapazitäten des HR100 bei 50 Einheiten liegen, eine Einheit kostet ca. 75.000 Euro Listenpreis. Aber inwiefern sich das auf die Q1-Umsätze ausgewirkt hat, werden wir erst am Freitag erfahren. Meine Tendenz geht also eher dahin, dass man Erwartungen enttäuscht statt übertrifft.

Bei der optimistischen Guidance müsste diesmal ein ausgeprägter umsatzsprung zu sehen sein. Airrobot sollte hoffentlich auxh etwas Wind reinbringen. Einige von euch haben ja hier immer ein recht gutes Gespür, was denkt ihr, erwartet uns?

Der Preis scheint etwas zu hoch zu sein für den erzielten Umsatz. Wird sich auch hier erst langfristig zeigen wie profitabel am Ende alles sein wird.

Wieso fühlen sich immer nur die falschen Leute angesprochen? ;-) Habe dich nicht gemeint, Klarname. :-)

Habe mich auf den Ausblick des Unternehmens bezogen, das einen Schwerpunkt der Aktivitäten im 2. Halbjahr verortet, nicht auf Analystenmeinungen (kenne keine aktuelle). :-)

Nochmals, wie schon so oft: auch Analysten und superduperüberdrüberwahnsinnsmegatolle Aktienprofis kennen die Zahlen eines Unternehmens im Vorfeld NICHT! Sie versuchen über verschiedene Parameter die Zahlen im Vorfeld abzuschätzen. Wie gut(?) das funktioniert zeigen die regelmäßigen Auf- und Abschläge nach diversen Quartalszahlen auch großer Unternehmen. Der Rückgang ist sicherlich zu einem Teil dem Drohnenabsturz, aber ganz sicher dem allgemeinen Marktumfeld geschuldet. Derzeit versuchen die Bären eine Rezession bei gleichzeitig hoher Inflation einzupreisen. Dabei werden alle Branchen (auch wieder einmal z. B. Solar, Wind, Batterien, Lithiumminen, etc.) und alle Unternehmen über einen Kamm geschoren. Selbst wenn die Rezession bei gleichzeitig hoher Inflation kommt (und das ist für mich noch nicht sicher, wenn auch durchaus nicht unwahrscheinlich), dann müssen wir die Art und Weise, wie Energie für die Wirtschaft und das tägliche Leben bereitgestellt wird gewaltig umdenken und da hat selbst ein Unternehmen wie Nordic Unmanned mit seinen Aufklärungsflügen über dem Meer ein Wörtchen mitzureden ... und ja, den Krieg in der Ukraine und die längerfristigen Auswirkungen auf die Verteidigungsbudgets darf man auch nicht außer Acht lassen.

Glaub ich kaum. Die Prognose für die Q1-Zahlen war schon immer sehr zurückhaltend. Persönlich erwarte ich tendenziell eher bessere Zahlen als prognostiziert, weil der Verkauf der AirRobot-Drohnen seit Ausbruch des Krieges deutlich angezogen haben soll. Eher hat hier die Meldung der abgestürzten Drohne nachträglich durchgeschlagen.

Keine schöne Zeit im Moment aber: Nordic Unmanned achieves full operational capability and commences commercial operations with the Textron Aerosonde system 10.5.2022 13:17:14 CEST | Nordic Unmanned | Additional regulated information required to be disclosed under the laws of a member state Nordic Unmanned has started operations in Finland for a client, where the operational team has today achieved Full Operational Capability (FOC) for the Textron Aerosonde system. With this deployment, and following the three ongoing CAMCOPTER operations, Nordic Unmanned currently has four simultaneous operations for the first time in the history of the company, all in accordance with the communicated utilization plan. Reference is also made to previous announcements regarding the Textron Aerosonde system and the EMSA OP46 contract. With this deployment Nordic Unmanned has commercially entered the long-range fixed wing market segment, whilst becoming the first operator in Europe conducting four parallel tactical drone operations, all running under the Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC). With full fleet utilization this year, Nordic Unmanned expect to have five parallel operations during its busiest period in Q3 2022. CEO, Knut Roar Wiig said: “We are very proud to achieve full operational capability on the Textron Aerosonde in a very short time. This comes as a result of safe and efficient training, teamwork and cooperation with Textron Systems. Strategically this is opening an entirely new market segment for Nordic Unmanned as we see an increased demand for fixed-wing general surveillance capabilities, and we are one of very few operators globally that offer these services.” The system flying in Finland is the LN-0310-UA (GRO) and LN-0310-UB (JAN) and will carry out long-range general maritime, cross-border surveillance in the Baltic region. The CAMCOPTER operations located in Germany and France are emission monitoring campaigns, where the main tasks of our CAMCOPTER systems are to measure ships' sulphur emissions, to verify compliance with EU rules and to conduct general maritime surveillance. The third operation, for a client in Norway, the CAMCOPTER performs multipoint cargo deliveries and maturing of autonomous landing capabilities.
