Preclinical Success with Ketamir-2:
Drug Candidate: MIRA Pharmaceuticals provided an update on its drug candidate, Ketamir-2, focusing on its principal metabolite, Nor-Ketamir-2.
New Findings: The company unveiled promising preclinical data indicating that Nor-Ketamir-2 is a longer-acting, brain-penetrating, and selective compound. It interacts specifically with the NMDA Complex's PCP receptor while avoiding activity on the glutamate NMDA site, which could potentially offer a more targeted therapeutic approach.
Enhanced Formulation: A new salt formulation of Ketamir-2, called Ketamir-2 Pamoate, has been developed to improve its pharmacokinetics. This formulation has shown nearly 100% oral bioavailability and improved brain penetration.
Regulatory Progress:
MIRA Pharmaceuticals is actively working on Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling studies and scaling up the drug under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
