Given the site visit (along with the project having Major Project Status) you would think FYI would be highly likely to receive funding if ALP becomes the next government. The fund would be modelled on the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, meaning the initial $15bn capital injection would stay off the government balance sheet to be provided through a combination of loans, equity, co-investment and guarantees. Recipients of the funding would need to return rates above the government borrowing rate, with the intention of funding projects in partnership with the private sector, including superannuation funds. Ich glaube, dass FYI das abgesichert hat mit dem Term Sheet dass Alcoa sie übernehmen darf. Warum sonst sollte Alcoa fast alles bezahlen und nur 65% bekommen? Dann würde jeder normalerweise sagen…dann Kauf ich die einfach…bringt mir mehr.

I don't see ALCOA kicking out FYI either, but if I were them I would just buy out FYI shareholders with a takeover offer, perhaps between stage 1 and stage 2. That would simplify things for them, and they'd keep all the profits for a modest outlay now. It would be interesting to think what a majority of holders would accept. Right now many might take 40-50c to get out without a loss.

What provides me more comfort is they are actively hiring people which you don't do if you're not serious about moving forward. While I guess it's a possibility Alcoa could kick FYI out and proceed on their own I think this scenario is highly unlikely and from what we've been told isn't permitted as part of the binding term sheet signed. Let's be honest here from this point onwards this is Alcoa's project and FYI and their shareholders are just along for the ride.
