As of April, the Chinese market BEV brand retail volume by price range: 1⃣ #BYD leads in the price range < 200k RMB. 2⃣ #Tesla ranks 1st in the 200k - 300k RMB range, with #Xiaomi entering the top 10 in this range. 3⃣ #NIO tops the list in the 300k - 400k RMB range, while #Zeekr ranks 2nd with a noticeable gap from NIO. 4⃣In the 400k - 500k RMB and over 500k RMB ranges, NIO ranks 3rd. Although #LiAuto Mega currently holds the top spot in the over 500k RMB range, its performance will soon be surpassed.

Wenn du alle 2-3 Jahre eine Aktie findest, die sich so entwickelt wie BYD zwischen 2020 - 2022 (und sie dann auch rechtzeitig verkaufst) dann kannst du 2040 locker in Pension/Rente gehen 😁

Das Tempo von BYD ist einzigartig. Schade um das Kappen der Globalisierung. Als ich 2020 kaufte dachte ich, ich kann 2040 easy in Rente gehen ;) Jetzt ein Brandherd nach dem Anderen.

According to official information, BYD will unveil a new generation pure electric bus platform at the exhibition, featuring stronger blade batteries, motor control systems, and other "leading new technologies."
The currently available BYD B10 pure electric bus measures approximately 10.5 m in length, 2.6 m in width, and 3.3 m in height. It is equipped with a new floating surround dashboard (12-inch full LCD instrument panel), a new ergonomic driver seat with ventilation, heating, and massage functions, and new ergonomic antibacterial passenger seats.
The BYD B10 comes with IP69 dustproof and waterproof batteries and is also equipped with 360° panoramic imaging, electronic rearview mirrors, and can be fitted with dual throttle misstep protection systems, fatigue driving monitoring systems, lane departure warning systems, collision mitigation systems, and other advanced driver assistance systems. The bus has a maximum range of 355 km and a maximum rated passenger capacity of 95 people.
BYD Commercial Vehicles recently announced that they will showcase the revamped pure electric bus B10, pure electric bus B87, the "logistics star" T5 series products, and an RV based on the T5DM.

In April 2024, China's PV retail sales were 1.5M units, down 2.7% YoY and 1.3% MoM.
🔹Among top 20 brands, only #BYD saw a 40.3% YoY increase, ranking 1st with 236.4k units. Chery had a 40.9% YoY increase, ranking 11th with 43k units. LiAuto, AITO, and Redflag also grew YoY.
🔹The rest, including Volkswagen (-21.6%), Toyota (-21.3%), and #Tesla (over -20%), saw YoY declines.

In April, the BEV market sold 418k units, +27% YoY.
🔹#BYD led with 120k units, +51% YoY, while #Tesla, Wuling, and Aion ranked 2nd to 4th, with declines of 20.9%, 16.9%, and 31.6% respectively.
🔹#Zeekr and #NIO both grew over 100% YoY, with similar sales.
🔹#Xpeng sold 8.9k units in 13th place,+29.6% YoY, and #Xiaomi entered in the top 20, ranking 16th with 7.3k units sold.

BYD Semi says its self developed chips now cover 8 broad areas & 80% of all auto grade chips
Each EV requires 10k+ RMB of chips
BYD makes its own power chips for eDrive, TMS, OBC
its own MCU for ADAS, eDrive, lighting, TMS, sensors
Even produces its own LED, CIS, HUD, DMS, NV, 360 degree sighting
And of course the various analog chips used throughout its cars like BMS AFE & acoustic chips
The only obvious missing parts are AI inference chip, main cockpit chip, RF, MEMS, Serdes & PHY chips
Those are BYD Semi's main target areas over next few yrs
Likely where large part of its 100B RMB smart car effort will go toward
