Another 3258 EVs lining up @ Xiaomo port waiting to be shipped to Brazil's Vittoria port
BYD sales in Brazil jumped this month w/ launch of Seagull, should surpass 5000
Xiaomo port has seen 15k export in Q1 thru 6 shipments w/ goal of 70 to 100k this yr
Eventually goal here is 1m EVs/yr
Xiaomo port phase 1 includes 2 100kt berthing & 1 50kt berthing
BYD to invest 25B RMB in Shenshan phase 1 & 2. Shenzhen Pingshan plant's production is stopping & shifting here. So Shenshan is BYD's major export production hub due to proximity to Xiaomo port
Over next yr, BYD will need to open up more dealerships, build its fleet of RoRo ships, launch more models & cheaper models (like sub 100K BRL Dolphin mini) to reach its oversea sales goals
Completion of Thailand/Brazil plant will also help its sales. It is currently too constrained by RoRo capacity

#BYD Denza GM Changjian Zhao stated in an interview that this year is a critical year for Denza exports. The RHD Denza will begin delivery in Jun/Jul, and the EU market has started recruitment.
He stated Denza's 2024 sales target is 180k units, and they will break 500k units in the future.

Ich persönlich glaub ehrlich gesagt nicht dran, dass sie das 1 Mio Ziel 2025 erreichen. Ziele kann man sich ja setzen, aber das erscheint mir doch zu hoch gegriffen.

Konkret haben sie gesagt, dass das Wachstum weiter sicher gestellt ist, die Konsumenten-Ausgaben aber sinken werden und der globale Ausblick unsicher ist. Im letzten Quartal ging es mit der Profitabilität ja bereits abwärts. Man rechnet also eher damit, dass diese Situation so anhalten wird und der Preisdruck hoch bleibt, das frisst dann natürlich Profitabilität weg.
Wang also forecast that BYD's vehicle margin would fall this year as the price war intensifies, but said the company would ensure its profitability remains stable by improving sales.
