<Research Report>JPM Cuts BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) TP to $270, Believes BYD Can Keep Strong Profitability JPMorgan stated in a research note that the H-shares of BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) underperformed the HSCEI by 8% in November, putting an end to its streak of outperformance against the index over the first ten months of 2023. The lackluster November performance of the stock was ascribed to investor concerns that the stagnant progress in the firm's autonomous driving technologies might mean upcoming products would lose appeal to younger buyers; as well as the recent price cuts, which indicated muted demand and high inventory levels. JPMorgan, however, did not agree with the above-mentioned apprehension and viewed the current share price of BYD COMPANY as oversold. The broker remained confident that the company would be able to maintain strong profitability and upgraded the H-share rating for the company to Overweight. The target price, however, was slashed from $310 to $270, after factoring in the challenging market environment in 2024.
