<Research Report>G Sachs Cuts BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) TP to $321, Rating Buy
Goldman Sachs wrote in a report that BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) achieved a net profit of RMB6.824 billion in 2Q, in line with the company's earlier guidance of RMB6.37 billion to RMB7.57 billion. Gross profit margin was 18.7%, up 4.3 ppts YoY and 0.9 ppts QoQ, while EBIT margin was 4.7%, up 1.1 ppts YoY and 0.6 ppts QoQ, reflecting its continued effectiveness in cost control.
According to BYD management, the penetration rate of NEVs reached 36% in July and is expected to increase by 1 ppt per month to 40% in December. Management additionally estimated Chinese NEVs to capture two-thirds of the global market share in terms of sales and deliveries this year.
BYD Management also expected price competition to continue over the next 3-5 years, which will help market consolidation. Factors such as falling raw material costs, improved purchasing power and economies of scale in production will help boost the company's profitability.
Goldman raised its profit forecast on BYD for 2023 by 9% in response to gross margin improvements in 2Q, but lowered that for 2024-25 by 4% due to the predicted capex increase due to the company's capacity expansion. The broker also reduced its target price from $337 to $321 and maintained its Buy rating.

In nicht allzu ferner Zukunft dürfte daher eine Kursimplosion sehr wahrscheinlich sein. Der Zeitpunkt dafür lässt sich aber nicht vorhersagen. Aber nicht wegen BYD. BYD ohne China locker 5x mal höher.
Ich glaube in China tut sich gerade was und ich denke es wird funktionieren, daher mein Kaufrating, was aber auch völlig unbedeutend ist, ähnlich wie das der Citigroup.
