Powell: Decision on pause not made today United States Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said on Wednesday that a decision on a pause of interest rate hikes was not made at today's meeting and that the Fed will take into account all incoming data going forward. He said that it is a "meaningful change" that the Fed no longer says it anticipates a further firming of monetary policy, but he did not exclude rate hikes in the future.
